PARADOX Cryo Chamber

PARADOX is a fully electric whole-body cryotherapy chamber engineered for professional operators who demand reliability, performance and operational efficiency.

About the PARADOX

PARADOX – Electric Whole-Body Cryotherapy

PARADOX is the flagship cryo chamber developed by Future of Cryo.

It is a fully electric, nitrogen-free whole-body cryotherapy chamber engineered for professional operators who demand reliability, performance and operational efficiency.

The Core Principle

The goal of professional cryotherapy is clear:

To reduce as much skin surface as possible to approximately 10–15°C within a short exposure period — safely and evenly.

This is where PARADOX differentiates itself.

The advantages of the PARADOX cryo chamber

100% electric cooling (without nitrogen)

The cryochamber is fully electric and does not require liquid nitrogen. This ensures uniform, constant cooling throughout the interior—without any risks from nitrogen vapors or cold burns.

An integrated buffer zone efficiently stores the cold and prevents valuable cold from being lost when entering the chamber. Air circulates continuously through this zone and is evenly distributed into the cabin as soon as the person is inside the chamber. This creates a stable, controlled cold climate throughout the entire application.

Operation is very simple: all you need is a standard 230 V power outlet. There is no need for complex installations, regular maintenance, or costly refills.

The powerful cooling technology ensures a stable, controlled cold climate. Thanks to the high cooling power, the desired application temperature remains constant – even during multiple applications in succession.

Virtually maintenance-free. Easy to use.

The PARADOX cryochamber operates entirely without nitrogen technology. This eliminates the need for refills, tank handling, and special ventilation or safety requirements.

Compared to many other electric cryosystems, maintenance requirements have been deliberately reduced. While regular, cost-intensive maintenance is often required with other systems, the PARADOX is designed as a closed, electric system for low-maintenance operation. There are no costly service intervals with high follow-up costs.

This makes the system particularly attractive for studios, practices, and hotels that value predictable operating costs, high availability, and reliable continuous operation without additional technical effort.

LED lighting system

The integrated LED lighting system provides clear visual guidance and creates a high-quality atmosphere in the cryochamber. Different colors indicate the respective status of the application and facilitate orientation:

  • Purple: The chamber is ready for operation
  • Green: The chamber can be entered or exited
  • Blue: The application is running

In addition to providing functional orientation, the LED lighting emphasizes the modern, futuristic design.

Intuitive self-service control

The PARADOX is designed for self-service. The desired program can be set intuitively and easily via a user-friendly touch display.

A clear, color visualization in combination with special sensor technology ensures that the application runs in a controlled and safe manner. This provides users with a reliable, reproducible cold experience.

Cryo sessions can thus be started and carried out independently, reducing personnel costs and facilitating everyday operation in the studio or practice.

Safety & Comfort

Several integrated safety systems ensure that every application runs in a controlled and reliable manner. The cryochamber is equipped with an easy-to-open, heatable door so that the session can be ended independently at any time.

With a floor space of 1.10 × 1.10 m and an interior height of approx. 2.10 m, the cabin offers sufficient freedom of movement and a pleasant feeling of space for a high level of comfort.

Low operating costs

The cryochamber is characterized by its highly efficient energy consumption. Power consumption is only approx. 2.5–3.5 kWh. Depending on usage and electricity rates, this corresponds to operating costs of around €10 per day.

Compared to conventional systems, this significantly reduces running costs. This makes everyday calculations easier and helps to ensure that the investment can be amortized economically and predictably.

How the PARADOX Cryo Chamber Works

The PARADOX cryo chamber features a powerful cooling unit that generates cold air and stores it in a buffer zone right next to the cabin. Once the session starts, the cold air is released evenly from above, creating a consistent skin cooling effect across the entire body.

The door is heated and can be opened at any time, ensuring safety, preventing condensation, and allowing for seamless operation — even in self-serve mode.

This smart air delivery system, combined with a 230V plug-and-play setup, ensures high performance with minimal infrastructure and maintenance.

FAQ

Our frequently asked questions

How does a cryo chamber session work?

A cryotherapy session in PARADOX lasts only a few minutes. After entering the pre-cooled cryo chamber, the application begins. Depending on ge,der a,d npdy-type, the session lasts between 3 and 5 minutes.

Colored LED lighting and clear visibility through the heated glass door help make the short session easy to follow and comfortable. Once the set time has elapsed, the door can be opened independently and the session ends.

The goal of a cryo session is not to make the chamber as cold as possible, but to achieve a controlled reduction of skin temperature to approximately 10–15 °C. This target range can be set and achieved with PARADOX in a controlled way.

Many users describe the cold sensation as tingling, comparable to a very cold winter day—but without damp cold. The first seconds naturally feel intense, but the body adapts quickly.

Many users report a clear, alert body sensation during the short session of around three to five minutes. Rather than pain, an intense tingling is typically perceived. Immediately after the session, many feel a pleasant warmth returning—especially in the outer areas of the body.

PARADOX features an integrated buffer zone in which cold air is stored temporarily. At the start of the application, this air is introduced into the chamber as a gentle, even airflow from above.

This creates a broad, homogeneous cold stimulus across the entire skin surface—precisely controlled and easy to tolerate. Air circulation is designed to reduce skin temperature into the target range within a short time, without local cold spikes or thermal shock.

This supports a uniform application and contributes to a comfortable, well-tolerated cryotherapy experience.

How strongly skin temperature changes during a cryotherapy session varies individually. It depends, among other factors, on body composition, blood circulation, muscle mass, and body mass index (BMI).

Studies suggest that women often cool more quickly at the skin surface than men, which is associated with differences in muscle mass and circulation patterns. In people with a higher fat mass, skin cooling can occur more rapidly because fat tissue tends to insulate the body’s core heat and affects heat transfer dynamics.

PARADOX offers adaptable protocols and variable session durations, enabling operators to respond flexibly to different body types and individual reactions—for a controlled, personalized cryotherapy experience.

Yes—when used properly, cryotherapy in the PARADOX cryo chamber is considered very safe. The chamber operates without liquid nitrogen, meaning there are no risks associated with nitrogen vapors or nitrogen-related cold burns as can occur with older systems.

Session duration is intentionally limited to just a few minutes and is generally well tolerated by healthy individuals. The chamber also includes multiple safety mechanisms: integrated sensors continuously monitor conditions during the session.

If the user feels unwell, the session can be ended at any time—the door can be opened easily. Before the first session, a short health check or questionnaire is typically used to screen for potential contraindications.

Whole-body cryotherapy is performed with minimal clothing so that cold can act directly on the skin. Wearing underwear or swimwear is common.

Sensitive body areas such as hands, feet, and ears are protected. Users typically receive gloves, thick socks or special footwear, as well as a headband or beanie.

Please remove jewelry and metal objects before the session. It is also important that skin and hair are completely dry.

This combination of minimal clothing and targeted protection helps ensure that cold exposure is well tolerated and controlled. Wearing a face mask can also be useful.

In general, cryotherapy is well tolerated for healthy individuals. However, there are certain contraindications where use is not recommended or medical consultation is required beforehand.

These include in particular:

  • severe cardiovascular conditions (e.g., known heart disease, significantly elevated or poorly controlled blood pressure, or relevant cardiac arrhythmias)
  • pregnancy
  • severe circulation disorders
  • cold hypersensitivity or cold allergy (e.g., pronounced Raynaud’s syndrome)

Additional exclusion criteria may include acute infections or fever, open wounds, or recent surgery.

Before the first session, a health questionnaire is typically completed to identify potential contraindications. When in doubt, medical advice should always be sought before use.

Recommended frequency depends on personal goals and individual tolerance. In general, cryotherapy is considered gentle and can—depending on suitability—also be used regularly. In performance-focused training phases, professional athletes sometimes use cryotherapy daily.

For most users, several sessions per week are sufficient. For recovery and general well-being, 2–3 sessions per week are commonly chosen.

The key is often regularity rather than a single session. Continuous use is usually better tolerated than sporadic single sessions. Still, a break of several hours up to a day is recommended between sessions so the body can adapt accordingly.

We only use natural refrigerants, which do not need to be replaced.
